JUNE
June 14: Flower Communion: "No Two Flowers are the Same"
Worship Leaders: Rev. Verdis LeVar Robinson and Perry Montrose
The Flower Communion is a ritual founded in 1923 by Unitarian minister Rev. Dr. Norbert Capek in his homeland of Czechoslovakia. It was introduced in the U.S. by his wife, Rev. Maja Capek, in 1940. The ritual symbolizes the community coming together, each bringing their unique beauty to the gathering in the flower they add to the basket and then receiving the beauty of another in the spirit of the flower different from their own. Bring a flower on Sunday to share in the Flower Communion and rest in the beauty of community and the natural world. After the service, we will celebrate the Great Outdoors Project and dedicate our beautifully renovated outdoor lawn.

The livestreamed worship promises to be a powerful and communal experience – the largest annual gathering of Unitarian Universalists in worship. The service will be led by the Rev. Jen Youngsun Ryu, Minister of the UU Church of Eugene, OR, and will feature Rev. Verdis and Perry Montrose live from Louisville, KY, and some familiar faces (and art) from our very own congregation!
June 28: Heart Songs
Worship Leader: Paul Carolan
Reflectors: Glenn Stevens and Lizzie Hess
Music arises from deep within our souls. We may not sing the same song or use the same words, but our hearts hold songs of their own. At today’s service we welcome Glenn Stevens and Lizzie Hess (Gilead Road) who will invite us into their world as music makers and with reflections on how a song can carry through generations.
